Christiana Care has been dedicated to cancer research for more than 30 years. Over the last 20 years, Christiana Care has enrolled more than 3,500 patients from Delaware and surrounding areas in Phase I, II and III cancer clinical trials. The program is funded by the National Cancer Institute as a Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP). Although the Cancer Research Office is based at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., residents of southern Delaware and neighboring counties in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania may participate in a National Cancer Institute study through one of our nine CCOP affiliate hospitals in the region.
