Thank you for your interest in our program. We just celebrated our 20th year. Since 1989, the Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program has trained physicians to care for all people in primary care or in subspecialty settings. Residents work closely with our faculty to develop competence and excellence in both specialties for dual board certification. Our residents are very comfortable treating patients with both acute care and chronic care needs, as well as with preventive medicine and well visits. Our residents are described as intelligent, enthusiastic, compassionate and great teachers.

The Medicine and Pediatrics components are both strong and have diverse patient populations with our vast referral bases from Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. Our residents train in both community and tertiary care settings, including Alfred I. du Pont Hospital for Children. Our Medicine-Pediatrics program is uniquely sponsored by Jefferson Medical College.

There are generally four appointments each year to our program. Our faculty and community physicians are interested pediatricians, internists and Med-Peds practitioners who are vested in the program. We have a challenging but flexible curriculum that will meet your individual present and future goals of primary care, fellowship or academics. We welcome your interest and invite you to take a closer look at our exciting Medicine-Pediatrics program and family.

Our Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Program is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.

Four appointments are offered each year to the four year Med-Peds program. Med-Peds interns work very closely with the approximately 10 categorical Internal Medicine interns, 20 Pediatric interns, three Combined Emergency Medicine/Internal Medicine interns, four preliminary and six transitional interns.
