Thank you for your interest in Christiana Care's Podiatric Medicine & Surgey-36 residency program. We invite you to take a closer look at what our progressive, well-established program has to offer.

Podiatric medicine has a rich tradition in Delaware and is well-integrated into the general medical community. Over the years our specialty has excelled in both clinical and academic endeavors. At Christiana Care we have created a residency opportunity designed to maximize the podiatric physician's knowledge and experience. Our major strengths are a highly-accessible and dedicated faculty, state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse patient population.

The Christiana Care faculty and administration are committed to the education of our residents. We have structured a well-rounded curriculum with a high surgical volume. It is noteworthy that all podiatric physicians on staff are eithercertified or qualified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery.

Christiana Care Health System operates two high-regarded acute care hospitals in downtown Wilmington and Newark, Delaware. In addition, there are impressive rehabilitation and transitional care facilities, and a vast network of outpatient services. Podiatry residents interface with primary care and specialty physicians on a daily basis where they learn the skills, judgement, professionalism and confidence which help form the foundation in becoming a  successful practitioner.

After three years of training, our residents are well prepared for professional careers, whether their interests lie in private practice, teaching, research or community service.
