Preliminary residents who require a background in
general medicine before pursuing other specialties are admitted to the
Preliminary Internal Medicine Residency Program. Preliminary residents
have made a significant contribution to Christiana Care, and we take pride
in their accomplishments. After completion of the preliminary year,
residents have gone on to train at prestigious institutions around the
country in specialties such as anesthesiology, ophthalmology, radiology,
neurology, emergency medicine and physical medicine and
rehabilitation.
