A 913-bed, modern facility in Newark, Delaware, Christiana Hospital provides a level of care only available in large-scale teaching hospitals:

  • The Center for Heart & Vascular Health at Christiana Hospital:  The Center for Heart & Vascular Health off ers the latest advances in cardiology and cardiovascular surgery, cardiac rehabilitation and preventive medicine. For positive outcomes, you'll want an experienced team--one that each year performs more than 1,000 open heart surgical procedures, plus thousands of diagnostic and interventional procedures in our cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs.

  • Emergency and Trauma Services: Christiana Hospital is the only American College of Surgeons-verified Level-1 Trauma Center-prepared to handle the most extreme medical emergencies-on the East Coast corridor between Philadelphia and Baltimore. See our Trauma Program Annual Report .

  • Helen F. Graham Cancer Center: A majority of cancer patients residing in Delaware receive advanced cancer care- coordinated among all appropriate specialists- from Christiana Care. Our regional cancer program features advanced medical, surgical and radiation procedures and diagnostic services, National Cancer Institute-funded research, and participation in clinical trials offering the newest cancer treatments.

  • Women & Children's Health Services : Our deluxe wing at Christiana Hospital is the "point-of-entry" to the world for about 7,200 newborns each year. Here, we know mother and infants are celebrating a birthday, and we do our best to celebrate with them. But we also feature the highest level of newborn care available. In addition to maternity and newborn care, we provide a full range of women's health services.
With its higher-than-average incidence of breast cancer in Delaware, the community needed a special facility to address the threat of breast cancer and other breast diseases. In response, Christiana Care Breast Center, an outpatient facility, opened in 1998.

  • Christiana Care Imaging Services provides high quality, fast turnaround of MRIs, CT Scans, X-ray and ultrasound imaging, in a location that's convenient to many who receive medical care on or near Christiana Hospital campus.

More than 1,400 physicians and surgeons are active members of Christiana Care's Medical-Dental staff, and more than one in 10 of them have located at least part of their practices on Christiana Hospital campus in two Medical Arts Pavilions adjoining the main hospital.
