Swine Flu/H1N1 and New Guidelines for Visitors

Need a break from caring for a disabled, frail, elderly or chronically ill family member? Respite services allow caregivers to attend to personal business, spend time with other family members or to just 'get away' for awhile. The trained professionals at Christiana Care Visiting Nurse Association can lend a hand.

Choose from a variety or services:

  • Personal care: bathing, shampooing, shaving and dressing
  • Education/instruction in tasks of daily living
  • Household duties: light cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
  • Companionship
  • Nursing home placement

Respite Care Programs provide care to eligible families throughout the state of Delaware in a variety of settings either by the hour or by the day, in client's homes, or by the week in an extended care facility.

Respite programs are available through a joint effort by Christiana Care Visiting Nurse Association and Delaware Health and Social Services Division of Services for the Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities.
