Rehabilitation Services for Outpatients

Dedicated to Restoring Function, Independence and Quality of Life
The Christiana Care Health System's multidisciplinary approach to providing outpatient rehabilitation services extends the continuum of care to help people achieve the maximum benefit through rehabilitation therapy.

Outpatient services and programs are offered at Wilmington Hospital and through a network of physical, occupational and speech-language rehabilitation services at convenient Christiana Care satellite locations.

A dedicated team of professionals
Restoring function and helping patients regain independence after injury or illness is a multidisciplinary effort of: patients and families working with:

  • physicians
  • rehabilitation nurses
  • physical, occupational and recreational therapists
  • speech language pathologists
  • psychologists and social workers
  • case managers

Physiatrists (medical doctors who specialize in physical medicine), serve as team leaders. All Christiana Care Rehabilitation Services are supported by the resources of the Christiana Care Health System. Laboratory, X-ray and other diagnostic services are available on-site at Wilmington and Christiana hospitals.

Satellite locations and in-home therapy
Rehabilitation services are also available through Christiana Care's Physical Therapy PLUS, while Christiana Care's Visiting Nurse Association provides in-home services.
