Christiana Care Health System is an independent academic medical center, which combines the best of both community and academic hospital systems. Christiana Care is a top-rated, regional health care system celebrating 100 years of experience in postgraduate medical education, a high-caliber faculty, modern facilities and a superb community in which to learn and grow. As the major tertiary care facility in Delaware, Christiana Care offers a complete spectrum of health care services. The Christiana Care board, administration and faculty are committed to education and research as a part of our mission to improve the health of our community.
Christiana Care supports 11 allopathic, two osteopathic, as well as dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery, pastoral care, podiatry and pharmacy residencies with over 200 residents. This is large enough to provide depth and breadth of educational opportunities, while small enough to ensure that each resident receives personal attention during his or her residency.
Since 1988, Christiana Care has been affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University. This highly successful affiliation provides both partners with the opportunity to share ideas and provide students, residents and faculty with a stimulating learning environment.
