Continuing the Tradition of Caring

Since 1888, Christiana Care has provided more health care to residents of northern Delaware and surrounding counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland than any other health system in the region. We touch the lives of one in three households in our community each year, and are listed among the top five percent of hospitals in the country for overall clinical excellence. 

A strong program of philanthropic support from our community allows Christiana Care to make important strides in patient care that would simply not be possible without the added financial resources. Your generosity helps keep our tradition of caring for our community alive.

The first recorded gift to what was to become today's Christiana Care was a dairy cow donated to the hospital in the late 1880s.  Since then, our community has supported Christiana Care with generous monetary contributions, as well as unique gifts, including sophisticated diagnostic and treatment equipment, art to enhance our facilities and program support for our community outreach efforts.
