Control Your Blood Pressure
Follow these steps to control your blood pressure:
- Follow a low-salt (low-sodium) diet.
- Do not smoke.
- Limit the amount of alcoholic beverages you drink to no more than one or two per day.
- Maintain your weight within normal limits.
- Ask your doctor about an exercise program that is right for you.
- Reduce stress. Relaxation techniques may be helpful.
- Take medications as prescribed by your doctor.
