Understanding how to live with and manage your diabetes is one of the most important ways to ensure that you live a long and healthy life. Christiana Care offers a variety of group and individual education programs at locations throughout New Castle County.
Living With Diabetes
Living with Diabetes is a 10-hour, comprehensive group program will teach you about target blood-sugar levels, testing your blood, diabetes medications, meal planning, exercise, stress management, foot care and standards of diabetes care. It includes individualized attention in pre- and post-class appointments with a certified diabetes educator. Saturday and weekday classes are available. This program is covered by most insurance plans. Please call if you need financial assistance to participate in this program.
For more information or to register for the program, call 302-661-3050.

- Blood glucose testing, including selecting and using a meter and understanding your test results.
- Instruction on how to use insulin and injectable medications.
- Nutrition and meal planning to help define options that can work for you.
