The Center for Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases offers one-on-one support to teach you how to properly use an insulin pump and how to integrate it into your lifestyle.

Your doctor may prescribe an insulin pump to help you achieve good blood-sugar control. By using the small, lightweight device, you can avoid extreme changes in blood-sugar levels, with more flexibility in food choices and meal planning.

Insulin pumps are small and lightweight—about the size of a cell phone. They deliver insulin through a tiny tube inserted under the skin in the abdomen.
