Christiana Care Rehabilitation
Auditory Rehabilitation
Christiana Care Audiology offers these rehabilitative services and programs:
Hearing aids
If your hearing evaluation determines that hearing aids may be of benefit, a communication profile will be developed to assist you in the selection of the appropriate style and technology to provide optimum benefit. We provide full-service consultation, evaluation, fitting and dispensing of hearing aids.
Hearing-aid repair
Minor hearing-aid repairs of most brands and styles can often be performed in the office. We also can send your hearing aid to the manufacturer for more extensive repairs, when needed.
Hearing Assistance Technology (HAT)
HAT is intended to improve hearing without a hearing aid or as a supplement to a hearing aid. These devices include television listening systems, amplified telephones, alarm clocks and other alerting devices.
Custom earmolds
Custom earmolds are available for hearing aids, noise protection and other devices. These include earplugs for shooters, musicians and swimmers, music-listening devices such as iPods and other MP3 players, stethoscopes and communication headsets.
Cochlear implant program for adults
A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted device that provides a sense of sound for someone who is deaf or severely hard of hearing. The audiologist works in conjunction with a neurotologist to determine patient candidacy. Following implant surgery, the audiologist works with the patient to program the device for optimal performance.
Tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT)
This proven therapy method uses educational counseling and sound therapy to treat tinnitus.
