Babak Vakili, M.D.
Babak Vakili, M.D., was born and raised in Wilmington, Del. After college at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Vakili attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After completing residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Christiana Care Health System, he pursued a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Vakili spent one year at the University of Texas-Southwestern in Dallas, and then two years at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
After completing fellowship training in 2004, Dr. Vakili spent three years in practice with Cooper University Hospital in southern New Jersey. During that time he served as the director of research for the urogynecology division and was widely published.
Dr. Vakili rejoined Christiana Care Health System in November 2007 to start the Center for Urogynecology and Pelvic Surgery and has successfully built a comprehensive pelvic-floor center.
