HomeHealth - Medical Help At Home

Help with Medications

To help maintain health, promote healing and manage pain.

Medication with You in Mind

Taking a lot of medications may be confusing, especially for patients who are just home from a hospital stay, elderly people, and people with multiple doctors and/or prescriptions.

Mixing up medications or not taking them properly can result in serious drug interactions and hospitalization. ChristianaCare HomeHealth provides in-home help to make sure you or your loved one can manage medications on a daily basis.

Here’s how we can help:

  • A full review and written inventory of all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, looking closely for potentially dangerous interactions or concerns.
  • Insight to help you understand what medications you are taking, why you are taking them, and what side-effects you should look for. Plus, we will help you understand proper doses and the best times to take your medications.
  • Help with setting up and a plan for taking medications which may include a medication dispenser.
  • Partnering with your doctor to be sure you are taking the correct medications for optimum healing and/or to manage pain.

ChristianaCare HomeHealth partners with patients and their families to provide skilled, coordinated, compassionate in-home care. Our tradition of caring for people across their lifespan is supported by the state’s largest health care system – ChristianaCare.
