No Heart Left Behind
Welcome to No Heart Left Behind!
This parent/coach course is designed for two people: a teen coach and a parent or loved one who is ready to learn about and improve her heart health. The course is typically run as a school-based program, which will begin with a kickoff event and conclude with an evaluation and a free T-shirt for those who complete the program.
Each week, you will have something to read and some activities to do that will help you to achieve these four goals:
- Increase your physical activity to reach the recommended goal of 30 minutes of physical activity a day, five days a week.
- Learn the signs, symptoms and risk factors for heart disease and identify your own risk factors.
- Make at least one positive heart-healthy change in your diet with the nutrition goal that you choose.
- Share what you’ve learned with someone you care about, and get them on the path to better heart health.
At the beginning, talk about when you can meet or talk for at least 30 minutes each week. Make it an opportunity to spend some fun, quality time together. You'll be turning ideas into action and making yourself healthier and happier. Before you meet, read your weekly coach's lesson if you are coach, or the parent's lesson if you are the parent or loved one.
