With more than 100 years of experience in post-graduate medical education, Christiana Care Health System is a top-rated independent academic medical center, combining the best of community and academic hospital systems.

Christiana Care supports 11 allopathic residencies and two osteopathic residencies, plus residencies in dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, pastoral care, podiatry and pharmacy. With more than 200 residents, our program is large enough to provide depth and breadth of educational opportunities, while small enough to ensure that each resident receives personal attention.

Our close affiliation with Jefferson Medical College and integrated residency programs with the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children provide expanded teaching and clinical opportunities for residents. A significant number of our Medical-Dental staff of more than 1,400 hold academic appointments at Jefferson and participate with Jefferson faculty in joint conferences and research projects.
