The Christiana Care Center for Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases offers comprehensive care for patients with diabetes, metabolic and other endocrine disorders. Our board-certified endocrinologists, certified diabetes educators and support staff provide you with the best diabetes care available, including specialized medical care, diabetes education and nutritional counseling. Our goal is to improve health care for all Delawareans with diabetes, which is why we have joined forces with the Delaware Diabetes Coalition and the American Diabetes Association. Our doctors have been recognized through the Diabetes Physician Recognition Program of the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the American Diabetes Association for providing high-quality care for diabetes patients.

We also provide comprehensive, expert care for other endocrine and metabolic diseases, including thyroid disease, osteoporosis, metabolic bone disease, menopause, pituitary-gland disorders and other gland disorders.

Diabetes affects millions of Americans. It is caused by a defect in the way our bodies make or use insulin. Without enough insulin to help process the food we eat, our levels of blood sugar (glucose) become too high. This can lead to very serious complications, including heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, blindness, amputation and premature death.

Diabetes can be a challenging obstacle to overcome. Although there is currently no cure for diabetes, you can take steps to control your blood sugar and lower your risk for complications. By providing you with experienced care when you need it, and by helping you to understand how to take care of yourself and manage your disease, the Christiana Care Center for Diabetes & Metabolic Diseases can help you to feel better and live a healthier, longer life.
