If you need assistance, stop by the main information desk or ask a member of the care team on the patient unit.

Service Animals

Only trained service animals (dogs and miniature horses) that meet the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are allowed at ChristianaCare. 

  • Animals that provide comfort, emotional support, or companionship are not allowed in the hospital.
  • Service animals must follow hospital rules and visiting hours.
  • Animals must wear ID that they’re a service animal.
  • You or your visitor must care for your service animal. Hospital staff cannot care for them.
  • Check with your nurse to make sure no one in your room has allergies, is afraid of animals, or has other health concerns.
  • Visitors with service animals should only enter the room of the person they are visiting.
