Adult Day Care

The state of Delaware plans to redevelop the former Emily P. Bissell Hospital site, at 3000 Newport Gap Pike, as the new home for the state's Division of Forensic Science. As a result, the state has ended its contract with ChristianaCare that supports the Evergreen Adult Day Services program, effective March 6, 2026.

We are grateful for the many patients and families we have served over the years. We recognize that the Evergreen center has played an important role for many patients and caregivers by providing socialization, structure and meaningful engagement. The Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities (DSAAPD) will work directly with affected families to help identify alternative adult day or community‑based programs.
