Enter the campus
Enter the campus on Jefferson Street. Turn left into the parking lot (across from the parking garages).

Park and enter
Park in the lot directly in front of the Surgicenter. Parking is free. Enter the building through the main entrance.

Registration Desk
Upon entering the front door you will proceed to the registration desk where you will be greeted by one of our clerical staff or a volunteer. You will be asked to sign in and register. Family members will be encouraged to remain at the center during your surgery. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Waiting Area
An ID bracelet will be placed on your arm following confirmation of your name and birth date. We will continue to check your name and birth date many times while your at the Roxanna Cannon Arsht Surgicenter.
At this time, a tracking number will be issued to your family/support system, so they may follow your progress on our electronic tracking system located in the waiting area. Refreshments are available for family members while they wait.

Pre-op
A registered nurse will review information about your medical history. Your family/support person may join you in this room when the nurse is finished. Your belongings will be placed in a locker during your surgery. When it is time for your surgery, your family/support person will be directed to the waiting area.

Operating Room
Your surgery will take place, in a state of the art operating room, specially prepared for your surgery. A surgical nurse will greet you and remain with you during your operation. Other people you will see in this area will be a variety of nurses and anesthesia providers.

Post Anesthesia
Depending on your surgery you will wake up in either phase I or phase II with a recovery room nurse at your bedside.

Post Operative Area (Phase II)
All patients will be discharged from the Phase II area. This is where the nurse will give post operative discharge instructions for home care to you and your support person. You'll also be offered something to drink before you leave.

Discharge Door
Your driver can bring the car to the discharge exit where a nurse will help you into the car.
